Steel wire rods are bars or sections with a small, in relation to their length, cross-section, obtained by rolling.
Steel wire rod is a popular product and has a wide range of applications. The basic parameters of steel wire rod are: cross-section shape (round, square, rectangular, hexagonal), cross-section diameter or dimensions, steel grade and its class.
The occurrence of different steel structures is caused by a different carbon content. This affects their mechanical properties and determines the method of processing, therefore unalloyed steel is commonly used in the production of structures and parts of mechanical devices, wherever its characteristics are sufficient for applications.
Depending on the carbon content, steel wire rods are divided into:
low-carbon steel – with a carbon content of up to about 0.3%
medium-carbon steels – with a content from 0.3 to 0.6%
high carbon steel – with a content above 0.6%.
Steel wire rod coils - transport
In order to facilitate transport and use, the steel wire rod offered by Vstal is sold in single-section coils bound with steel tape with unplaned coils. Why is it worth buying wire rod in coils? Its greatest advantage is material savings – you can cut the wire rod to a specific size, so there is no waste. Additionally, it is easier to transport. Coiled wire rod takes up less space than cut-to-size bars, so no large rooms are needed for storage.

Wire rod in coils - application
Smooth and ribbed wire rod from Vstal are perfect for:
