Galvanized steel in coils
Galvanized steel is steel protected against corrosion by applying a zinc layer.
The zinc coating protects the steel for many years and requires no maintenance. In addition, you can extend its durability and give the products the desired aesthetic value by covering the galvanized surface with an additional varnish or paint coating.
Galvanized steel - sheets
Galvanized steel sheets are produced in a continuous hot-dip galvanizing line, which ensures obtaining sheets of various types and thicknesses of the zinc coating and various mechanical properties.
Hot-dip galvanized sheet is a steel sheet (steel core) placed in a bath of liquid zinc, which protects the sheet against corrosion. The anticorrosive properties of zinc coatings mean that zinc can form extremely resistant and very sparingly soluble covering coatings. They are formed during contact with air and water, and consist mainly of basic zinc carbonate and are responsible for the proper protection against corrosion.
Although they are slightly tolerated by wind and weather over the years, they are re-formed due to the zinc beneath them. Nevertheless, in the case of external structures exposed to weather conditions (rain, snow, etc.) and dirt, additional protection is recommended, e.g. by painting. In order to obtain a flat product of the required thickness, the sheet is subjected to a hot rolling process.
The method of drying the sheet after the zinc bath determines the appearance of the zinc coating: flowerless or with a small flower. Taking into account the aesthetic value of the material, the flowered sheet (marked with the symbol M) is appreciated more by designers and contractors.
